In line with ongoing efforts to empower adolescent girls, boys, and women with livelihood skills at Muna Vocational Enterprise Institute, Transcultural Psychosocial Organization (TPO) also support the conflict affected children and women through series of structured intervention activities to strengthen their resilience. These activities were facilitated by MHPSS facilitators, GBV Case Worker, and Child Protection (CP) case management team, ensuring an integrated approach that addresses psychosocial wellbeing, protection needs, and skill development for affected individuals.\r\n\r\nGBV Activities conducted\r\n GBV team begin the Activities with energizer (pick the apple and past) which serve as ice breaker during the focused group discussion session (FGDs) conducted for adolescents’ girls and women participants. furthermore, awareness session was facilitate by the team and it was focused on Rape and GBV mitigation. participants learned about personal safety, confidentiality, available GBV services within the center and channels of reporting abuse within the institute. The session provides a safe space for the participants to understand how and where to seek for support in case of violence, timely timely reporting and access to services available.\r\nChild Protection\r\n Child Protection (CP) team at BOSVEI Muna conducted an awareness session on Cholera prevention, the awareness highlighted the importance of proper hygiene practices, including hand washing, safe drinking water and environmental sanitation, as key measures for preventing cholera outbreak in the vocational center. In addition, Focus Group Discussions session (FGDs) was conducted with adolescent girls and women on hygiene promotion, inspections, warning signs, symptoms, timely identification, and prompt reporting to facilitate immediate access to health support services. The session aimed to enhance the participant knowledge and encourage appropriate health seeking behaviors to reduce the risk of cholera transmission. Moreover, the CP team identified and documented cases with several protection concerns and made referrals to MHPSS unit and school clinic to ensure the health resilience of the cases identified.\r\nMHPSS\r\nThe team coordinated Psychosocial support activities with students to keep them informed of how their mental health and social well-being has impact directly or indirectly on their day to day activities and their relationship with individuals around. The team engaged this learners through indoors and outdoor recreational activity\r\nIndoor Activities\r\nWomen and girls participated in indoor recreational activities known as balloons cup relay games which promote emotional catharsis, stress regulation and social interaction. Participants engaged in a fun and energetic environment where balloons contained positive messages and questions that encouraged reflection and sharing. The activity contributed to reducing stress and improving group cohesion\r\nOutdoor Activities\r\nMale learners engaged in outdoor structured recreational activity (Ball drop games and football ) designed to help learners who are experiencing psychological distress feel relaxed and happy. Learners actively engaged in team play, which fostered social interaction, cooperation, and emotional release. The activity was facilitated in a secure and encouraging environment. The exercise enhanced resilience, boosted confidence, and elevated mood.\r\nLife skills session.\r\nLife Skills session on peace and conflict resolution was conducted, featuring interactive activities such as the Mystery Pictures Perception Exercise, Apple Pickers Energizer, rapport-building activities, and a \"Thank You closing circle\" the session focused on strengthening participants\r\n conflict management, communication, and problem-solving skills while promoting teamwork and mutual respect through guided discussions and practical exercises, participants explored how life and vocational skills can enhance self reliance, improve decision making, build confidence, and strengthen coping mechanisms in the face of daily challenges. The session also highlighted the role of skills acquisition in fostering emotional stability, reducing vulnerability, and supporting positive future planning and psychosocial well-being.
